We stitched over in June of 2003. We went from broadcasting @ 500 watts to 2000 watts! It was a long time coming, but it did happen!
Basically the move to 90.9 was to facilitate the airways; there is another school in Pomfret, CT broadcasting @ 91.1 and an NPR 'affilliatel' broadcasting out of Long Island.
