Hash Brown w/ Ryan Hartt & the Blue Hearts
Thursday, December 22, 2005 - Stash's - New London, CT
Just a quick reminder about a special blues show occurring December 22, 2005 at Stash's Cafe in New London, CT as Texas blues guitar and harmonica ace Hash Brown returns to his home state, backed by 2004 CT Blues Challenge winners, Ryan Hartt & the Blue Hearts.
A Connecticut native, Brian 'Hash Brown' Calway has been playing the blues since 1973. Since relocating to Dallas, TX in 1983, he has played with Sam Myers, Ray Sharpe, ZuZu Bollin, Henry Qualls, Big Al Dupree, Willie WIllis, UP Wilson, and Robert Ealey to name just a few. He has toured Europe and the US many times with his own band and others and has been featured as a sideman on at least 25
recordings. His latest release "Have Some Fun" (Browntone Records) features current Fabulous Thunderbirds guitar player, Nick Curran as well as a host of other young up-and-coming blues stars.
Ryan Hartt & the Blue Hearts were formed in April 2000. Their second Far-Tone Records release, "Yeah Man!" is currently one of eight semi-finalists in the International Blues Foundation's "2006 Best Self-Produced CD Contest." The record also features West Coast guitar legend, Junior Watson on four tracks. The Blue Hearts were voted "Best Blues Band of 2005" by the readers of the Hartford Advocate's "Grand Band Slam." _________________ Ryan Hartt & the Blue Hearts
