| former CNI DJ Magoo's band? |
|
|
Hi everybody. I've been trying to remember the name of the band that good ol' DJ Magoo was in back in yonderdays but the memory bank is coming up empty. Perhaps one of you all could remind me? I'd certainly appreciate the help.
What a sweet man he was --- I remember him fondly and often.
best wishes to everybody up there,
Adam

Magoo was in the following bands, with the oldest first: The Cartoons, Kat Thang, and Joy Buzzer. We have the Cartoons LP and the Kat Thang LP in the record library and we used to have a couple of Joy Buzzer songs on cart (but alas there is no more cart player to play them on). I too miss Magoo - he was a great guy and a dear friend --- anne |

Thanks! I believe it was Kat Thang I was thinking of. I seem to recall that one back in the library. Did a Google search for the LP and the only store selling it is in Finland, of all places.
No more cart machine??? No more late-night (or, shucks, mid-afternoon) "cart only" shows? Mercy!
cheers,
Adam |

javascript:emoticon(' ') How about Crawlspace?
Towers II lists: Michael Wylde, v; Magoo, b; Marco Lorah,d; 'Crash' Nash,g.
Keep searching for the music. It took me almost a year to find the Cartoon's EP on EBAY. Someone in California was willing to part with it...
If you want Towers Of New London 1 & 2. You can get the LPs at the Hygenic Gallery right here in NL... Did you know that there is a Towers 3 that came out earlier this year! Check out www.hozomeen.org for more info on the latest addition of this series.

If memory serves, somewhere I have a recording of the Cartoons playing at The El'n'Gee. Don't get too excited: it's on a mini-cassette! This would have been mid-80s; probably 1985 or 1986. (It was a rare all-ages show. Probably a Sunday afternoon. They were opening for the Reducers.)
I wonder where I could find a mini-cassette player and dub it off to give to the appropriate people. I can't imagine the quality is very good, but I hate to just throw it away. Seems unlikely anyone else recorded the show.
Does anyone know for sure whether Magoo was playing with the band at that time? |
