The 27th was a great lineup. I haven't seen many of these bands in a while and it was great to see how they have 'evolved'.
One thing was for certain, Laurin was in great form putting the 'hammer' in full swing. Maybe warming up as a Cavity helped. Couldn't have been the blinking light
This was the first time I got to see a full Brian Skidmore performance. I have caught bits and pieces or I either came too late or had to leave early... Anyway, in the tradition of the Cankickers (imho), he definately does his own thing and is not afraid to do it! How can you not love that. Also, for a week, I had the dumpster song in my head. "Going through the dumpster, yum yum yum..."
And Fatal Film.... Last time I saw them, they were a duo. I was anticipating to see what they were going to do with this concept. Boy was I in for a suprise! Instead of the 'White Stripes' guitar/ percussion duo, they evolved into a well put together quartet. They have definately moved beyond their recorded effort on Towers 3.
Well, there are so many shows coming up. Looks like we've all got to plan our calendars accordingly. |
